Robert Morrison was in contact with a girl whom he believed to be a 13-year-old girl – it was in fact a “decoy”.
He thought he had incited a child to commit sexual acts upon on themselves and encouraged them to meet him at a hotel.
The grooming messages comprised more than 400 pages of chats between two adults posing as children and Morrison – the chats included requests from the predator to meet and the messages had a sexual overtone.
The 57-year-old pleaded guilty to grooming offences Wood Green Crown Court and on April 12, 2019, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
He had previously been convicted of making an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of children and of attempting to meet a child to commit a sexual offence in the US.
